Why We've Chosen to Charge a Membership Fee

The executive board of Sassy Sexism Smashers has made the decision to charge a reasonable yearly membership fee of $10. We thought hard about this decision and genuinely feel that it is an important step in getting this group to be what we want it to be. Our goals are to change the world. We want to become a real recognized feminist organization, and to do that we need to take action. We need more than just womanpower, as important as that is to have.

We absolutely promise that none of the executive board members will be taking this money to do anything at all other than work for the organization as a whole or for the good of our world. It will be used to further our mission and for nothing else.

It will be used for things like purchasing items to be donated to places like the Columbus YWCA. It will be used for recruitment to grow our organization and spread our message of equality. It may be used to host a get-together or meeting for group members, to get to know each other and to discuss plans for future events.

We are so grateful for the page's current members and would love to have all of you join the new page as well. Feminism is a fight, and a fight needs fighters. We'd be beyond honored to have anyone's help. Sassy Sexism Smashers is a place for humans who are sick of sexism and are passionate about fighting for equality. It's a place for those who want to make a difference, and we're glad to have you on board.
